Crescent School Raises £1,166 For The OurJay Foundation
Naomi from the OurJay Foundation visited Crescent School on Thursday 13 March to receive a donation for £1,166.
We were pleased to welcome the inspirational Naomi from the OurJay Foundation to school to talk to the children in assembly. She spoke about the importance of defibrillators explaining sensitively about what they do and what to do in an emergency. She demonstrated the defibrillator voice and asked everyone to check that their family and friends know where their nearest defib is located.
As part of the assembly, Crescent School was delighted to present Naomi with a cheque for £1,166, money raised during the Michaelmas Term through lots of different fundraising activities. Pupils were pleased to discover that the funds they had collected were nearly enough to provide another new defibrillator, to add to the incredible 161 defibs that OurJays have already installed.
Naomi and the School Council, who organise the school’s charity fundraising, went outside to the school’s existing public access defibrillator. She opened up the defib to allow us to take a photo.
Huge thanks to Naomi for visiting us and for working so hard to provide life-saving equipment for our local communities.
