The Crescent is a co-educational independent day school for children aged 4 to 11 years. Tailoring learning to individual needs, we support all our pupils to achieve great things in a happy and caring environment.
Crescent School is the only independent primary school in Rugby, serving families from Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, specialising in preparing children for entry to senior schools, both state maintained and independent, at the age of 11 years.
We are one of the Princethorpe Foundation’s Junior Schools and share the same ethos, resources and love of learning.
We teach the children that ‘To give is to receive’ and encourage them to strive for excellence in all that they do.
If you entrust your child to our care we will nurture him/her as an individual as all the children learn about themselves, the world around them and their places in it. That nurturing, allied to good teaching, will enable your child to develop a ‘can do’ attitude and to recognise that learning can be a lot of fun!
Independent primary schools have long been known as Prep. Schools - short for Preparatory Schools. As a Preparatory school, our final aim would be to prepare your child for secondary education. Our pupils do very well indeed in the 11+ Grammar School entrance tests and in the entrance tests to senior independent schools, many winning scholarships. It is quite usual for around half of the children in our Year 6 class to be offered Grammar School places or scholarships to senior independent schools. Perhaps more importantly, we could enable your child to settle very quickly and happily into a senior school and make the most of the opportunities offered there.
If you are a parent, with a child under the age of 11, I would be delighted to welcome you to Crescent and show you more of what we have to offer.
Crescent School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Our safeguarding policies, and many others, are available to view on this website here. Other information is available on request, please contact us.
